This article explains how to configure your chart data and settings in the Dashboard Builder.

Adding filters to a chart

The dashboard can be filtered interactively by anyone viewing it, using the filters and charts on the screen.

As a designer, you can also add a static filter that cannot be changed by viewers. This can apply to either a specific chart or to the entire dashboard.

To add a new filter, hover over a chart and click the Data button in the top-right corner.
Then click Add filter to open the Manage filters window for that chart.

Start by selecting the column you want to filter by.

Next, choose the type of filter you want to use and add or select the values you need.

You can add multiple filters if you like, and once you have finished configuring them, click Apply filters in the bottom-right corner.

Editing chart settings

To adjust how a chart looks, hover over it and click the Settings button.
The sidebar will change to show the Edit item menu for that specific chart.

Here you can change:

  • Chart colours and general styling

  • Axis labels and titles

  • Legends and tooltips

You will also find a section on Interactivity, which lets you decide how the chart reacts when users click on parts of it. For example, clicking on a bar in a bar chart can filter other charts on the dashboard automatically.

Cloning and deleting charts

When you hover over a chart, you will also see two additional buttons: Clone and Delete.

Click Clone to create a copy of the chart in an empty space on your dashboard. The copy will keep the same filters and data as the original.

If you click Delete, the chart will be removed immediately. There is no confirmation message, but a small undo pop-up will appear, allowing you to reverse the action if needed.

If you miss that, you can always use Version history to return to an earlier version of your dashboard.

Downloading chart data

When you hover over a chart, you will also see a Download button.

Click it to download the data shown in the chart as a CSV or XLSX table, or save the chart as a PNG image.

Summary

Use the Data button to manage filters, the Settings button to edit chart appearance and interactivity, and the Clone, Delete, and Download options to duplicate, remove, or export charts.

These tools give you full control over how your charts look, behave, and display information.
