How to add a Task to a Risk

Applies to user roles: Account Owner, Manager

Available on platforms: Vatix Workspace web app

Adding a Task to a Risk turns a mitigation you have agreed into work somebody owns and can be chased on, held against the Risk it belongs to rather than in a separate list. Anyone with a Risk Register licence can see a Risk's Tasks, and Account Owners and Managers can add them.

Note: Risk Register is currently available to a limited number of organisations. If you don't see it in your left sidebar, contact your Account Owner. Account Owners can contact their Vatix account manager to find out more.

How to add a Task to a Risk

  1. Go to 'Risk Register' in the left sidebar.
  2. Click the Risk you want to add a Task to.
  3. Open the 'Related' tab.
  4. Click 'New Task' on the 'Tasks' section.
  5. Enter a name in 'Task Name'.
  6. Choose an 'Assignee' and a 'Due Date' if you have them. You can add either later.
  7. Click 'Create Task'.

A confirmation message appears, and the Task is linked to the Risk straight away.

You can also link a Task you already have to a Risk from the Task itself: open the Task, click 'Edit' on 'Task Details', choose the Risk in the 'Risk' field and click 'Save'. See 'How to edit a Task'.

What the Tasks section shows

The 'Tasks' section shows up to five of the Risk's Tasks, the soonest due first, with a column for 'Task name', 'Assigned to' and 'Status'. Click a row to open that Task in full. Click 'View all...' to see the Risk's Tasks in one full list. Which Tasks you can open depends on your role, as it does everywhere in Actions. See 'Getting started with Tasks'.

Where the Task appears

The Task is a normal Task, so it also appears in Actions alongside the rest of your work and behaves the same way there. The Risk's name shows in its 'Linked to' column, and clicking it opens the Risk. See 'How to create a Task'.
