How to add and manage Event Form sections

A section groups related questions on an Event Form, for example 'Incident Details', and every form has at least one section

Before you start

Only designated users in your organisation have access to Object Manager. If you need something changed in Object Manager and don't have access, contact the people in your organisation responsible for configuring it.

How to add a section

  1. Go to 'Object Manager' > 'Events' > 'Forms'.
  2. Open the Event Form you want to edit or create a new Event Form.
  3. At the bottom of the Event Form, click 'Add Section'.
  4. Click the section title and type over 'Untitled section' to name it, for example 'Vehicle Details'.
  5. To guide reporters, click 'Description (Optional)' below the title and add a short explanation, such as what the section covers or when to complete it. This step is optional.
  6. Click 'Publish' to publish your changes.

Note: A shortcut also appears beside a section as you work, with options to add a question or add another section without scrolling to the bottom of the form.

How to rename a section or edit its description

  1. Click the section title to edit the name, or click the description below it to edit the guidance text.
  2. Click 'Publish' to publish your changes.

How to reorder sections

The order you set here is the order reporters see the sections in, unless conditional logic routes them somewhere else.

  1. On a section, click the three-dot menu in its top-right corner.
  2. Select 'Move sections'. The 'Reorder sections' dialog opens and lists every section with its current position, for example 'Section 2 / 5'.
  3. Reorder the sections by dragging a section using the handle on its left, or by using the up and down arrows on its right.
  4. Click 'Apply changes'.
  5. Click 'Publish' to save your changes.

How to delete a section

  1. On the section you want to remove, click the three-dot menu in its top-right corner.
  2. Select 'Delete'.
  3. Click 'Publish' to save your changes.

Note: Deleting a section also removes the questions inside it. Drag and drop any questions you want to keep into another section before deleting the section.

Where reporters go after a section

At the bottom of each section is an 'End of the section' control, set to 'Continue to next section' by default. You can change this to route reporters to a different section based on their answers.
