How to import a Word document into Documents
Applies to user roles: Account Owner, Manager, User
Available on platforms: Vatix Workspace web app
You can import a .docx file directly into Documents, converting it into an editable Vatix document in one step.
This is useful when you have existing Word documents, such as policies, procedures, or templates, that you want to manage, share, and collaborate on within the platform without recreating them from scratch.
Note: Only .docx files are supported. You can import one file at a time, up to 10 MB.
How to import a Word document
- Go to 'Documents' in the left sidebar.
- Click the '+' icon next to the 'Documents' heading.
- Select 'Import Document'.
- In the 'Import document' window, drag your .docx file into the upload area, or click 'Choose file' to browse.
- Under 'Destination', select the folder where the document should be saved.
- Click 'Import'.
The document will open automatically. The file name becomes the document title, and the document is saved as a draft in the folder you selected.
From here, you can edit it the same way as any other document in Vatix.
