How Vatix 24/7 Monitoring and Self-Monitoring work
Applies to user roles: Account Owner, Manager
Available on platforms: Vatix Workspace web app
When a lone worker raises an alarm, someone needs to respond. Lone Working gives you two options.
Vatix 24/7 Monitoring sends alarms to the Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC), a team of trained operators staffed 24/7. When an alarm is triggered, an operator sees the worker's name, GPS location, and Alarm Response Profile, then follows the defined escalation steps. This option is BS 8484:2022 accredited.
Self-Monitoring sends alarms to emergency contacts that you nominate within your organisation. Those contacts receive a call when a lone worker raises an alarm and follow the escalation steps defined in the Alarm Response Profile. This option suits organisations where workers operate at predictable hours and where internal contacts are reliably available.
Note: Self-Monitoring depends entirely on your nominated contacts being available when an alarm is raised. If contacts are unreachable outside business hours, an alarm may go unanswered. Consider Vatix 24/7 Monitoring if this is a risk.
The monitoring type is set at the Alarm Response Profile level. You can use different types for different groups of lone workers within the same organisation.
