What are the different lights on the Safe Pro device?

The Safe Pro has two lights on the front, above the SOS button. There is no amber light on the device.

The red light is the power and network indicator. The blue light is the location indicator.

What the red light means

The red light What it means
Off The device is off
Rapid flashing The device is starting up
Rapid flashing, with a vibration An alarm has been raised
A single or double flash The device is on and ready to use
Solid The device is charging. It turns off once the device is fully charged, within four hours

What the blue light means

The blue light What it means
Off The device has no active GPS connection
Flashing The device has an active GPS connection

When you turn the device on

Press and hold the power button for five seconds. The device beeps, and the red and blue lights both start flashing while it starts up. Once it is ready to use, the red light settles into a single or double flash.

How to tell whether an alarm has been raised

A flashing red light on its own does not mean an alarm has been raised. The red light also flashes rapidly while the device is starting up.

When you raise an alarm, the device vibrates as well as flashing, and it places a call to your alarm responder. To learn more about what happens next, read what happens when an alarm is raised.

Every alarm is recorded in Vatix Workspace as soon as it is raised, so your Account Owner or Manager can confirm whether one was raised under 'Lone Working' > 'Overview'.

Note: If an alarm was raised by accident, still complete the call so the responder can check that you are safe and close the alarm.

How to check the battery level

The lights do not show how much battery the device has left, so check the battery in the app rather than waiting for a light.

  1. Open the Protector Mobile app.
  2. Go to 'Devices'.
  3. Tap your Safe Pro from the device list.

The device details screen shows the current battery level. To learn more about charging, read how to charge and check the battery on a Safe Pro device.

Note: If the lights do not match any of the patterns above, or the device does not respond, contact support@vatix.com or ask to be connected to a live agent in the chat window.
