How to create a Task
Applies to user roles: Account Owner, Manager
Available on platforms: Vatix Workspace web app
Tasks can be created in two ways:
From another record
When you're on an Event, Audit, Document, Site, Asset, or Contact record, you can create a related Task directly from the 'Related' tab. The Task is automatically linked to that record.
Standalone
You can create a Task directly from the Actions module without linking it to a specific record. This is useful for ad hoc work that doesn't arise from a particular record.
How to create a Task from another record
💻 In the Vatix Workspace web app:
- Go to the relevant module in the left sidebar (Events, Audits, Documents, Contacts, Sites, Assets, or Contacts)
- Open the relevant record.
- Click the 'Related' tab.
- Click 'New Task'.
- Enter a Task name that clearly describes what needs to be done.
- Select the person you want to assign it to from the 'Assigned to' field.
- Set a due date.
- Click 'Create Task'.
What happens next:

The assignee will receive a notification (if notifications are enabled).

The Task will appear in their Actions list.

The Task will appear under the 'Related' tab of the record.
How to create a standalone Task
💻 In the Vatix Workspace web app:
- Go to 'Actions' in the left sidebar.
- In the 'Tasks' tab, click 'New'.
- Enter a Task name that clearly describes what needs to be done.
- Select the person you want to assign it to from the 'Assigned to' field.
- Set a due date.
- Click 'Create Task'.
📱In the Protector Mobile app:
- Tap 'Actions' in the bottom menu. It is shown as a blue square icon with a white checkmark inside it.
- Open the 'Tasks' tab.
- Tap the plus icon.
- Select 'Task' as the action type.
- Tap 'Create'.
- Enter a Task name that clearly describes what needs to be done.
- Select the person you want to assign it to from the 'Assigned to' field.
- Set a due date.
- Tap 'Create Task'.
Note: Standalone Tasks can be linked to another record later.
