How to download and use the Protector Mobile app

Applies to user roles: Account Owner, Manager, User

Available on platforms: Protector Mobile app

The Protector Mobile app is the Vatix mobile app.

It can be used for:

  • Lone Working, also called the Lone Worker app
  • Reporting and managing Events
  • Submitting and managing Audits
  • Managing Actions (Tasks, Audits, and documents you have been asked to acknowledge)

Before you start

  • You must already have a Vatix account. If you've just been invited, check your inbox for the 'Welcome to Vatix!' email and accept the invitation in your browser first.
  • You need a product licence assigned to your account. This determines which sections you can see in the Protector Mobile app.

How to download the app

Download the Protector Mobile app from your device's app store:

Once the app is downloaded, open it and log in using your Vatix account.

How to use the Protector Mobile app

The Protector Mobile app helps you stay connected to key Vatix features from your phone. For more advanced setup and management, use the Vatix Workspace web app.

How to move between sections

The bar at the bottom of the screen holds shortcuts to your first three sections, with the section you are currently in shown at the end of it.

To reach any other section, tap the arrows at the end of the bar. That opens the full list of the sections available to you, for example 'Events', 'Devices', 'Audits', 'Settings', 'Inbox', 'Safety Checks', 'Actions' and 'Safety'. Tap the one you want.

The sections available to you depend on the product licences assigned to your account, so your list may be shorter than the example above.

How to change the order of your sections

The three sections at the top of your list are the ones that get shortcuts on the bar, so putting the sections you use most at the top puts them a single tap away.

  1. Tap the arrows at the end of the bar at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Tap the sliders icon in the top-right corner of the list. The 'Customise' screen opens.
  3. Press and hold the handle on the right of a section, then drag it up or down to where you want it.
  4. Tap the cross in the top-left corner to close.

Note: You cannot hide a section, only move it. Everything you have access to stays in the list behind the arrows.

Opening Vatix links on your phone

If you tap a Vatix link on a phone with the Protector Mobile app installed, it opens in the app, on the record itself, rather than in the mobile browser. This includes the buttons in the notification emails Vatix sends you.

If you do not have the app installed, the link opens in the browser as before.
