How to view and manage notifications in your Inbox

Applies to user roles: Account Owner, Manager, User

Available on platforms: Vatix Workspace web app, Vatix app (formerly Protector Mobile app)

Note: The Protector Mobile app was renamed to the Vatix app on 5 October 2026. Read more about the rename.

The Inbox is where all your Vatix notifications appear. You can view everything in one place, filter by module to focus on what matters most, and quickly see where action is needed.

How to access the Inbox

💻 In the Vatix Workspace web app:

Click the tray icon in the left navigation sidebar.

📱 In the Vatix app:

Go to 'Inbox'.

The app Inbox lists all your notifications, grouped by when they arrived, with the newest first. Tap a notification to open the record it refers to. Filtering by module, the 'All' and 'Unread' switch, 'Mark all read' and search are in Vatix Workspace only, so the sections below describe the web app.

How to filter notifications by module

The Inbox sidebar lists each module available to you: Events, Actions, Audits, Sites, Assets and Documents. Selecting a module shows only the notifications from that area.

  1. Open the 'Inbox' in the left navigation sidebar (the tray icon).
  2. In the left sidebar, click the module you want to view (for example, 'Events').
  3. The main panel updates to show only notifications from that module.
  4. To return to all notifications, click 'All' at the top of the sidebar.

Note: You'll only see modules in the sidebar that are enabled for your organisation and accessible to your role.

How to manage read and unread notifications

At the top of the notification list, you can switch between 'All' and 'Unread' to focus on notifications you haven't seen yet. The unread count is shown in brackets next to the tab.

To mark all visible notifications as read, click 'Mark all read'. To search for a specific notification, use the 'Search notifications' field in the top-right corner of the Inbox.
