How to assign and unassign a Safe Pro device
Applies to user roles: Account Owner, Manager, User (Lone worker)
Available on platforms: Vatix Workspace web app, Protector Mobile app (Lone Worker app)
You can assign a Safe Pro device in two ways, depending on who is doing it:
- Account Owners and Managers can assign a Safe Pro device to a user in the Vatix Workspace web app.
- Lone workers can assign a shared Safe Pro device to themselves and unassign it at the end of their shift in the Protector Mobile app.
Assigning a Safe Pro device links that device to the user's identity and Alarm Response Profile. When an alarm is raised, alarm responders will see the user's name and location.
Note:

A device can only be assigned to one user at a time. Remove it from the current user before reassigning it.

You will not be able to assign a device to a user unless you have already assigned an Alarm Response Profile.

When you assign a device, it will use up one of your monitoring licences (visible at the top of the screen).
How to assign a Safe Pro device to a user in the Vatix Workspace web app
This workflow is for Account Owners and Managers.
Option 1: from the 'Manage' page
- Go to 'Lone Working' in the left sidebar.
- Select 'Manage'.
- Find the user in the list.
In the 'Products' column, click '+ Add device'. - Select the device by its name and code, for example Safe Pro (VTX-MY23).
- Confirm the assignment.
Option 2: from the 'Devices' page
- Go to 'Lone Working' in the left sidebar.
- Select 'Devices'.
- Find the device in the list by name, code, or device tag.
- Select the device to open its record.
- Assign the device to the user from the device record.
Tip: Use device tags, shown in the 'Device tags' column on the 'Devices' page, to organise devices by team, site, or status.
How to assign a Safe Pro device to yourself in the Protector Mobile app
This workflow is for Users (lone workers).
- Open the Protector Mobile app.
- Tap the 'Devices’ tab in the bottom navigation bar.
- Tap the blue '+' button in the bottom right corner.
- Enter the 7-digit code shown on the back of the device.
Alternatively, you can use your phone's camera to scan the QR code on the back of the device.
Once assigned, the device will appear in your 'Devices' tab and will be linked to your identity and Alarm Response Profile for that session.
How to unassign a Safe Pro device in the Protector Mobile app
This workflow is for lone workers using shared Safe Pro devices.
- Open the Protector Mobile app.
- Tap the 'Devices' tab in the bottom navigation bar.
- Tap the assigned device.
- Tap 'Unassign from me'.
Once unassigned, the device will be available for another user to assign to themselves.
Note: If you forget to unassign a shared device, an Account Owner or Manager can unassign it in the Vatix Workspace web app.
