Vatix product updates - 2026.08.25 (Mobile app)
This app update places the emergency call for you when you raise an alarm on an Android phone, gives the Audits section a clearer name, brings document acknowledgements to the app, and opens Vatix links in the app.
Lone Working
Emergency calls placed for you on Android
When you raise an alarm from an Android phone, the call to your responders is now placed for you, instead of the dialler opening and waiting for you to tap 'Call'. You reach your responders faster, and you can put your attention on the situation you are in rather than on your phone.
The first time you open 'Safety' after updating, the app asks for your permission to place calls. Allow it and every alarm from then on calls on its own. If you would rather not, nothing is lost: the app carries on exactly as it does today, opening the dialler with the number already filled in for you to tap.
This applies to Android phones only.
Note: the alarm is raised and sent to your responders either way, whether or not the call is placed.
For more information, see how to raise an alarm from the app and what happens when an alarm is raised.
Audits
A clearer name for the Audits section
The section of the app that was called 'Forms' is now called 'Audits', matching what the module is called in the Vatix Workspace web app and what most teams already call it. Same section, same contents, clearer name.
If 'Audits' is not one of the shortcuts on the bar at the bottom of your screen, tap the arrows at the end of the bar to open the full list of your sections. For more information, see how to move between sections in the app.
Actions
Document acknowledgements in the app
You can now see and complete the documents you have been asked to acknowledge without leaving the app. 'Actions' has a third tab, 'Acknowledgements', alongside 'Tasks' and 'Audits', listing everything assigned to you with the nearest due date first. You can filter by 'Pending' or 'Acknowledged', search by document name, and open one you have already completed to see the receipt.
Until now the only route to an acknowledgement on a phone was the notification, so dismissing it left nothing to go back to. The tab is always there. It appears for anyone whose organisation has Documents.
For more information, see how to complete document acknowledgements.
The 'Due today' reminder in your app Inbox
The 'Due today' morning reminder, listing the actions, audits and acknowledgements assigned to you that are due today, now reaches your Inbox in the app as well as by email and in your Inbox on the web.
For more information, see how to view and manage notifications in your Inbox and how to manage your notification preferences.

Vatix links open in the app
Tap a Vatix link on a phone with the Protector Mobile app installed and it now opens the app, on the record itself, rather than the mobile browser. You go straight to the event, audit or task you were sent, instead of signing in again in a browser window to see something the app could have shown you.
Nothing changes if you do not have the app: links open in the browser exactly as before.
If you have not installed it yet, see how to download and use the Protector Mobile app.
