Once you have activated an alert, the red LED will flash rapidly, and the device will vibrate to indicate that an alert has been raised. If you are using our 24/7 Alarm Monitoring by Vatix service*, the device will initiate a call with our Alarm Receiving Centre. The device will beep to indicate that the responder is listening in silently for audio cues of distress or violence and assessing the situation.

After assessing the situation, the responder will take the appropriate action. The alert will lead to one of three outcomes:

  1. You confirm you are safe: If the responder cannot detect an immediate threat, they will speak to you through the device to verify your safety. You’ll be asked to confirm your identity, usually with your name and date of birth. If is it a false alert, the alert will be closed.

  2. Escalation: If the responder cannot detect an immediate threat, but you are unable to respond and confirm your safety verbally, we will call the contacts in your predefined Alarm Response Profile. This usually involves contacting your line managers or colleagues to ensure your well-being.

  3. Emergency Response: In cases where a threat is detected, such as hearing signs of distress or violence, or in a clear emergency situation, the responder will immediately contact the relevant emergency services. The contacts in your Alarm Response Profile will be informed of the situation.

Once you have raised an alert, the app screen will turn red and your phone will initiate a call with our Alarm Monitoring Centre. Your phone will make a call to our Alarm Monitoring Centre or the escalation contacts you chose, this depends on whether you have Vatix 24/7 Monitoring or Self-Monitoring. Even if the alert was raised accidentally or for testing purposes, it is critical to complete the phone call once an alarm is raised, so that the responders can check that you are safe and close down the alert.

If you are using our 24/7 Alarm Monitoring by Vatix service, the responder will initially listen in silently for audio cues of distress or violence. They are assessing the situation.

*If you have opted for Self-Monitoring, your Safe Pro will call your chosen internal responders instead of our 24/7 Alarm Receiving Centre. Contact your administrator to learn more.
